6 incredible hikes at Sydney’s doorstep

We all need an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and what better way to achieve this than getting out of the city on the weekend to experience one of these epic adventure walks right on Sydney’s doorstep. Hiking is a fun way to enjoy the outdoors while also keeping healthy and active. We have put together a list of must-do treks for those keen to explore what regional Sydney has to offer and enjoy some spectacular sites!

Patonga to Pearl Beach – 3 km

With the ocean behind you and ocean in front of you, this stunning trek through eucalypts and red gums will keep the camera snapping. Make sure to bring your swimmers for a cool-off at either end!

With COVID we have all experienced that keeping active has been harder than usual, but it’s time to drop that Netflix remote, put your boots on, and start exploring the natural wonders of our own backyard!

Bouddi National Park

Buddy Coastal Walk | National Parks

There are a variety of day walks explorers can enjoy in Bouddi National Park located on the southernmost tip of NSW’s Central Coast region. Whether you decide to stay in the area of Killcare, Pretty Beach, Acoca or Terrigal, you can spend several days exploring the local terrain, or you can enjoy a day trip from Sydney. Our favourite trek is the Bouddi Coast walk. Which can either be started from McMasters Beach or Putty Beach. This stunning coastal walk will have you taking in spectacular views of Palm Beach (recommended starting from McMasters for this view) as you walk boardwalks, trek through rainforests, across yellow sand beaches (so be sure to pack your swimmers) where the National Park meets the ocean and through good old fashioned Australian bush filled with plenty of banksia and bottlebrush.
