indigo foundation's
Larapinta Trek for Change

5–11 June 2022

Join us for the adventure of a lifetime as you trek the iconic Larapinta Trail, one of the most popular and remote walks in Australia. Known for its breathtaking landscape and mountainous terrain, the trail’s rocky outcrops form a striking backdrop to scenic paths that cut passages through awe-inspiring gorges and expansive plains. A National Geographic favourite, this world-renowned trek is a must on any hiking enthusiast's bucket list.

This exciting challenge is a chance to support three of our grassroots partnerships in Bougainville, India and Rwanda that are working to develop and deliver programs focused on the rights and livelihoods of women and girls. You’ll be led by expert guides who will take you on this once-in-a-lifetime walk to experience the beauty of the Australian outback. Here, you’ll witness breathtaking views at the top of Rwetyepme (Mount Sonder), swim in stunning waterholes, visit sacred sites of the outback’s ancient guardians, the Arrernte people, who’s spiritual connection to the land can be felt throughout and spend five unforgettable days trekking one of Australia's most iconic trails all while raising funds for indigo foundation to empower women and children to create a sustainable future.

On the Larapinta Trek for Change you will have the exciting opportunity to participate in a physically challenging hike in our own beautiful backyard, while fundraising in support of grassroots change to empower women and girls.

Women and girls across our partner communities are facing bigger challenges than usual amidst the COVID-19 global pandemic. The funds you raise through the Trek for Change will aid three of our community partnerships in Bougainville, India and Rwanda that transform lives and build more resilient communities.

While you prepare for the adventure, you will learn how each program empowers women and girls in addition to working with the whole community to ensure change is driven through the education and support of the entire community. Your contribution will help challenge gender inequality and ensure these women and girls get the tools they need to build a brighter future.
