Close your eyes for a moment and imagine what it would be like to spend a day at a mountain lake carved by glaciers? Or gazing across one of the longest continually inhabited countries in this world? This is not just an adventure. It’s a life-changing experience - for you and children in Uganda. You will have the most amazing time in an effort to support education in Uganda. The snow-capped peak of Kilimanjaro is a breathtaking sight which rises from the rainforests of the East African plains and you will stand at its summit, literally on the top of the world. This is a personal challenge. You will be pushed to your limit as you climb through five different climatic zones. On this 11 day adventure, as your muscles hurt and you wonder if you can go on, you will know that you have given students in disadvantaged areas of Uganda, a life-changing education. As you trek from cultivated farmlands to lush rainforest, through alpine meadow and across the barren lunar-like landscape to the summit, you will see the most amazing sight of the sun rising over the East African plains below.
With each step, you’ll be helping while helping School for Life employ the best possible teachers, provide students with high quality education, three nutritious meals a day, health care, and clean water. You’ll be helping provide communities with quality education - primary and secondary schooling, vocational training and employment. You can literally help change lives.
When your trek is completed, you are given the opportunity to let the adventure continue with a project visit to Katuuso Primary and Vocational School and Riverside Primary School in Uganda (additional cost). As you spend 2 days on-site, you will witness first hand where your hard-earned fundraising dollars are going, led by School for Life’s CEO and Founding Director Annabelle Chauncy. With Annabelle, you’ll have the chance to meet the staff and students whose lives you are changing - an experience you will never forget.

As always, by participating in responsible tourism that respects and honours the people and places you visit, you are also helping to support the local communities in maintaining their way of life. Your travel time in places that focus on environmental and cultural preservation and your interest in their suitability practices, helps bring money to the community, supports local guides, porters, craftspeople and artisans, and allows them to take pride in their efforts.
There are many creative and fun ways in which you can fundraise. To help get you started we have created an Online Fundraising Resource Hub! The incredible online resources contains everything you’d need to kick-off your fundraising, including an A-Z guide of fundraising ideas, “how-to” guides for certain events and even a sample press-release and corporate sponsorship letters. You will also have regular support from the School for Life team to help you develop a fundraising plan tailored to your network.
