      Trip at a glance

Get ready to experience the best of the NSW Far South Coast as you travel with purpose on Orygen’s Sapphire Coast Adventure.

Experience Australia’s rugged coastal wilderness through one of the best kept secrets on the NSW Far South Coast.

The Sapphire Coast is a gateway to enchanting coastal forests, sparkling estuaries and secluded beaches. Discover historic lighthouses, untouched coastlines and ancient geological formations as you trek with a small group of like-minded people led by expert local guides. Stay in comfortable accommodation and enjoy freshly prepared meals featuring local seasonal produce.

Your adventure starts in the seaside community of Tathra, where you’ll visit the picturesque historical-listed Tathra Wharf and the magnificent surroundings of Bournda and Mimosa National Parks, before continuing south to Ben Boyd National Park and Green Cape Lighthouse.

Watch as sea eagles soar above the crystalline waters and keep your eyes peeled for signs of humpback whales, who are known to frequent this stunning coastline to feed and nurse before heading to Antarctic waters. Once on the Light to Light Walk, you’ll explore rugged cliff tops to open coastal heath and woodlands filled with unique flora and fauna, fascinating geology and landscapes with reminders of early European settlement and the incredible history of our First Nations Peoples.

Travelling with Orygen and Soulful Concepts will inspire a sense of motivation and encouragement because, as part of this trip, you’ll help young people with mental ill-health get well and stay well.

Three in four Australians will experience a mental health challenge by the time they turn 25. Orygen works with young people, their families and friends, to develop new, positive approaches to preventing and treating mental disorders.

That’s why we’re asking you to trek the Sapphire Coast for Orygen. Every step you take, and dollar you raise, will make a difference to young people living with mental ill-health.

We hope you can join us on Orygen’s Sapphire Coast Adventure. We know you’ll walk away with treasured memories and the knowledge that you’ve been part of something life-changing!

      Give back

We believe all young people deserve to grow into adulthood with optimal mental health. Everything we do is focused on that outcome.

Most mental health disorders begin between the early teens to the mid-20s. In fact, one in five young people will have experienced a depressive episode by the time they turn 18. We believe in treating early and focusing on recovery. Pioneering reform to deliver real-world practical solutions. Never settling for anything less than what young people need and deserve.

Our research is global, impactful and creates change. Working directly with young people, their families and friends, we pioneer new, positive approaches to the prevention and treatment of mental disorders.

We advocate. We make sure that policy makers understand the need and cost of mental ill-health in young people.

We educate. We use our research and evidence-based practice to develop innovative training programs and resources.

Our goal? To see young people with mental ill-health getting well and staying well. Now that’s a revolution in mind.
