    Trip at a glance

Immerse yourself in the rugged beauty of the Snowy Mountains to help animals in need!

On this incredible weekend challenge, you’ll experience the majesty and wild beauty of Australia’s only true alpine region, reaching the summit of Mount Kosciuszko and the Great Dividing Range.

From the Austrian-inspired Jindabyne village to stunning Blue Lake and Mount Kosciuszko, this bucket-list adventure will introduce you to the very best of Australia’s High Country. Hiking in a small group with like-minded people and under the care of an expert guide, your journey will encompass glacier-fed freshwater creeks, historic huts, weathered snow gums and cool granite tors carved out during Australia’s last Ice Age.

Meandering through vegetation unique to the Snowy Mountains, you’ll admire the stunning display of over 200 species of wildflowers covering the ground alongside spongy sphagnum moss and fragrant alpine mint bush. Marvel at new vegetation thriving on surrounding mountains after the disastrous bushfires of 2020 – a reminder of nature’s unmatched regenerative power.

As you take in the crisp mountain air, you’ll be able to drink from one of the many cascading icy alpine streams. Passing above the snow gum treeline, you’ll keep a lookout for mountain pygmy-possums, wombats, emus, platypus, echidna, crimson rosellas and even wedge-tailed eagles in their extraordinary natural habitat.

Most importantly, you’ll raise vital funds to protect, treat and rehome animals in need across NSW – so that no abandoned, neglected, injured or surrendered animal is turned away or forgotten.

We hope you can join us on Trek4Paws - Kozi Adventure. We know you’ll walk away with rich memories, new friendships and the knowledge that you’ve achieved something truly worthwhile!

    Give back

RSPCA NSW is a not-for-profit organisation that cares for, treats, protects and rehomes animals across the state. As a charity, RSPCA NSW strives to maintain an open-door policy, so no abandoned, neglected, injured or surrendered animal is turned away or forgotten. With an ultimate goal of improving animal welfare education and keeping people and animals together, RSPCA NSW acknowledges the crucial role of humans in keeping animals safe.

RSPCA NSW runs six shelters and three veterinary hospitals dedicated to treating, rehabilitating and rehoming animals. In addition to this, there are over 20 volunteer branches that run fundraising events and assist with local microchipping and desexing drives in lower income communities. Along with cats and dogs, RSPCA NSW helps a wide range of other animals, from horses to rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, goats and sheep.

RSPCA NSW not only serves animals in need, but also owners who require guidance and support. Programs tackle animal education and assistance in relation to domestic violence, aged care, homelessness, mental health, and more.

With the largest animal enforcement unit in the state, RSPCA NSW has over 30 inspectors dedicated to investigating instances of alleged animal cruelty and a call centre equipped to handle reports.

Here’s how your fundraising can make a difference:

Each year, more than 24,000 animals are taken to RSPCA NSW for help. And it’s because of generous supporters – just like you – that we can continue to care for them when they need us most.

Your participation in the RSPCA NSW Kozi Trek will make a lifesaving difference to abandoned, neglected, sick and surrendered animals across the state.

Animals deserve our protection and respect – they make our lives full and remind us what it means to live humanely. We can’t thank you enough for standing up for your belief that animals matter.

Every $100 you raise could help a brave RSPCA NSW inspector on the road fighting animal cruelty. That means every $100 you raise saves lives.

Your fundraising doesn’t just directly help animals at RSPCA NSW shelters. It helps fund crucial community outreach programs to educate communities and school kids about the importance of responsible pet ownership, stopping the ugly roots of animal cruelty at the source.

Each day brings a new challenge in RSPCA NSW shelters, but having you on our side makes it a little bit easier. Your fundraising efforts make a tangible impact on all creatures, great and small.
