Tour from AUD: Price available upon request
The Castle walking track is one of the most challenging yet rewarding day hikes* along eastern Australia.
Our local wilderness guide will collect you from your hotel at 5am. The drive is approximately one hour from Milton/Mollymook to Long Gully car park.
Standing defiant like an island in the sky The Castle will enchant even the most jaded bush walker. Your journey will pass through vast rainforest and woodland as you ascend Kalianna Ridge. We will traverse around the base of The Castle under sheer rock faces, passing caves and waterfalls en-route to the narrow gateway of Meakins Pass. We will stop to eat lunch enroute before continuing our climb to the summit.
The scramble along the exposed ridge to the summit now begins, climbing high above the ancient forests below before arriving on the large plateau of The Castle summit where the spectacular panoramic views of The Budawang Range and Tasman Sea will be sure to inspire!
We return the same way we came and transfer back to your hotel, arriving back in the early evening.
In addition this journey will see you travel with a purpose, donating to support Treading Lightly, a local grassroots environmental organisation that brings people together to build resilient communities and make positive, long-lasting change towards a sustainable future.
*This can also be run as a two-day camping adventure, please speak to our team if you're interested in this option.
* Travellers are responsible for valid visas throughout the duration of the trip
