Tour from AUD: $95 per person*
Join us on an unforgettable trek up The Castle on August 5th, led by expert wilderness guide Chris Zinon. This challenging yet rewarding day hike is one of the most spectacular in eastern Australia, taking you through vast rainforests and woodlands as you ascend Kalianna Ridge. The trek involves traversing around the base of The Castle under sheer rock faces, passing caves and waterfalls en-route to the narrow gateway of Meakins Pass. We will stop for lunch before continuing our climb to the summit.
The scramble along the exposed ridge to the summit is not for the faint of heart, but the stunning panoramic views of the Budawang Range and Tasman Sea from the plateau at the top make it all worthwhile. The trek will take approximately 8-10 hours, and participants should bring appropriate gear such as sturdy hiking boots, a personal first aid kit, hat, sunscreen, warm jacket, raincoat, head torch, snacks, lunch and plenty of water.
In addition to the incredible experience of climbing The Castle, this journey is also supporting Treading Lightly, a local grassroots environmental organisation dedicated to building resilient communities and promoting sustainability. Along with 1% of our revenue contributed to carbon removal. So, lace up your boots and come climb The Castle with us on August 5th for an adventure that is both challenging and rewarding!
It should take approximately one hour to drive from Milton to Long Gully car park. Chris Zinon, our wilderness guide, will meet you at the car park at 8am to start the trek up The Castle.
