    Trip at a glance

    During the Tamang Heritage Trek, you will explore traditional Tamang villages, unspoiled nature, and local monasteries. During the Langtang part of the trek, you will have great views on the Langtang mountain range. In Kyanjin Gompa you can enjoy a rest day or climb up to Tsergo Ri; a Himalayan Viewpoint at almost 5000m.

     

    Trekking through Tamang village gives you a wonderful opportunity to closely observe the community’s lifestyle, culture, and crafts such as bamboo baskets and mats.

     

    Tamang Heritage trek presents the dramatic views of Langtang Lirung (7245m), Langtang Kerung, Chumse Danda ridge (5122m), Dorje Lakpa (6989m), Jugal Himal, Ganesh Himal, Paldor peak, Shringi Himal, Manaslu, and Sanjen Himal ranges. Glaciers of varying sizes and high altitude lakes namely Gosaikunda, Pravatikuda, Bhairav Kunda, and Dudhkunda are found along the Tamang Heritage trek.

    Itinerary

    DAY 1: DEPART AUSTRALIA
    Today marks the beginning of a colourful and awe-inspiring Nepalese adventure. Get set for a life-changing adventure with Soulful Concepts. With a long flight ahead, there is plenty of time to rest and relax or review our handy pre-departure information and country guide to get you in the mood for your arrival into Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu.

    DAY 2: NAMASTE! ARRIVAL IN KATHMANDU
    Namaste! Welcome to Kathmandu, where the architecture is storytelling and the cultural heritage brings new meaning to the word captivating. Once disembarked, look out for one of our local representatives who will transfer you to your centrally positioned hotel. Here, you will have time to rest up before the group meets this afternoon. 

    After a detailed briefing on the journey ahead, be welcomed by a traditional Nepalese performance over a delicious meal at a local restaurant.

    DAY 3: DRIVE FROM KATHMANDU TO SYABRUBESI (1467m) VIA TRISHULI (NUWAKOT)
    Embark on an eight-hour drive through the scenic foothills to Syabrubesi. Pass through Dhunche, catching glimpses of Ganesh Himal, and witness the evolving landscape. 

     

    Accommodation: Comfortable hotel in Syabrubesi

    DAY 4: TREK FROM SYABRUBESI TO GATLANG (2238m) VIA GOLJUNG
    Immerse yourself in Tamang culture as you trek through local villages. Enjoy panoramic views from Goljung, witness a cultural show, and explore Gatlang with its Tamang monastery. The day concludes with an overnight stay at the camp.

    Trekking distance: 6 hours

    DAY 5: TREK FROM GATLANG TO TATOPANI (2607m)
    Marvel at the majestic Langtang and Ganesh Himal views. Indulge in a rejuvenating hot bath in Tatopani's natural hot springs, believed to heal aches and pains. Immerse yourself further in the Tamang culture. Stay overnight at the camp.

    Meals: B,L,D

    Trekking distance: 6 hours

    DAY 6: TREK FROM TATOPANI TO THUMAN (2338m) VIA NAGTHALI
    Experience the trek's wildlife and enjoy panoramic views from Nagthali. Explore the cultural richness of Thuman, known for Shamanic performances. The day concludes with an overnight stay at the camp.

     

    Accommodation: Comfortable camping 

    Meals: B,L,D

    Trekking distance: 5 hours

    DAY 7: TREK FROM THUMAN TO TIMURE (1762m)
    Visit the historical Rasuwagadi and witness the unique Tibeto-Burman Tamang culture. Timure lies on the old trade route to Tibet, with a fort showcasing centuries-old Nepal-Tibetan relations. Stay overnight at the camp.

    Meals: B,L,D

    Trekking distance: 5 hours

    DAY 8: TREK FROM TIMURE TO BRIDDIM (2229m)
    Experience the authentic village life of Briddim, enjoy a cultural show, and partake in a homestay to truly immerse yourself in Tamang culture. Briddim, a Tibetan Buddhist village, offers a unique glimpse into ancient traditions. Stay overnight at the camp. 

     

    Accommodation: Comfortable camping 

    Meals: B,L,D

    Trekking distance: 6 hours

    DAY 9: TREK FROM BRIDDIM TO SYABRUBESI (1467m)
    Descend gently through picturesque villages, with magnificent views surrounding you. Conclude the day with a relaxing overnight stay at the camp.

     

    Accommodation: Comfortable camping 

    Meals: B,L,D

    Trekking distance: 3 hours

    DAY 10: DRIVE FROM SYABRUBESI TO KATHMANDU (Eight hours)
    Embark on an eight-hour drive back to Kathmandu, reflecting on the incredible experiences of the Tamang Heritage Trek.

    Accommodation: Hotel Shankar or similar

    DAY 11: DEPART NEPAL
    Our Nepali adventure has sadly come to an end. What a soulful enriching experience it has been! Today you will be transferred back to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward flight.
