    Trip at a glance

The Wharf to Wharf Walk is a journey through history, crossing the ancient lands of the Yuin people, between two historic wharfs on the Sapphire Coast, NSW.

It is a walk for coast lovers, stretching 27km along the coast between the iconic Merimbula and Tathra Wharfs. Wander the hidden trails that snake along rugged clifftops through Bournda National Park and discover spectacular headlands, secluded bays, lakes, freshwater lagoons and long, isolated beaches.

Our guided Wharf to Wharf Walk offers small group walking, expert local knowledge and delicious local produce. The walk is fully supported so all you have to carry is a day pack. The package includes a night of accommodation before the walk for your convenience. If you would like to add another night after the walk, please let us know.

This walk is challenging in parts, with some rough surfaces and beach walking. A moderate level of fitness is required.

    Give back

We know travel is better when you can give back as much as you get. That’s why we have designed our trips around contributing, supporting and participating in local projects and community initiatives that have a positive social and environmental impact.

Each of our tours provide a unique way to get up close and personal with the destination and incorporate a fundraising target or donation into the travel costs, which enables travellers to connect, give back, and travel with purpose.

The rest of the day is spent at your leisure, soak in all this charming town has to offer, from locally brewed beer to fresh oysters, this jewel of the South Coast is sure to impress. Check in to your accommodation located right across the street from Tathra beach! Grab a coffee and scroll along the sand while keeping your eyes peeled for whales and dolphins. Tonight's welcome dinner (at own expense) will be held at a local restaurant,  where you will be able to get to know your fellow travellers.

Day 2: Tathra - Mimosa Rocks NP Walk
After a relaxing morning, you will meet your local guide at the reception of Tathra Beach House, where the first day of your trek begins. We’ll head north along the beach to Mogareeka and then onto Fords Headland; an old farming property that was given to Parks in the 1970s. From here you will then head down to historic Moon Bay and onwards to Wajurda Point lookout taking in the impressive Nelsons Bay. After descending down to the bay through unique vegetation you will prepare to cross the lagoon (waist deep, we have kayaks to help with the crossing if required). After drying off we walk the deserted Cowdroys beach, with a short section back through the spotted gum forest and onwards through the sand dunes to Middle Lagoon and Middle beach. Here we enter the forest again following the coast north to Bithry Inlet, where you can explore the ruins of an old property with links to the Myer department store. After we transfer back to your accommodation where we will enjoy a wholesome meal made with local seasonal produce.
